Bel Koo, Malaysia most famous female web designer. Wow, its cool to be her real life friend right!? Don’t get jealous!!  Well, Bel and I studied in the same College – Perak institute of Art, and she in my junior. We have corporate in few project and her work inspired me! Let get close with this talented designer with the below interview.

Tell us about yourself?
Bel Koo, website designer based in Ipoh, Malaysia. Graduated in Graphic Design at P.I.A, been working in freelance web design well 5 years, some of my work have received recognition and displayed on some web design gallery/showcase., and appreciated much for the recognition.

Why you chose to be a web designer rather than a graphic designer ( you graduated in graphic design)?
Self-taught in Web Design, actually that’s not much different between Graphic Design and Web Design, its still Design, visual. I like designing web becausE it can play around with the web design theme, style, and new web technology like jQuery, AJAX, HTML5, make it movement.

The much different is Web Design need to have some knowledge about coding eg: CSS, HTML, or PHP.

How you picked up your web design skill?
Self-taught. Learn and search from internet, visit some website design gallery, forum, and yes ASK and SHARING with friends.

Prediction of web trend in year 2012?
(Please google search. XD. )

“Typography, One Page layout, Huge Image, Sketch/Hand Drawn Design, Retro style, Intro box, Oversize footer, Minimalism design, and HTML5.

Among your work, which project is your favorite, and why?
The most favorite Photoalbum.com.my, the website with three different design to present their photo album product, and yes my favorite One Page layout.

What is your next step / big plan in year 2012?

(Married! LOL just kidding!)
Improve more in Web Design is a must, and improve more in Photography. I love Photography much, yeah I caring my cam with me always, capture every moment – memory. My next big step, I would love and wish to own a studio for my photography career, take more photograph.

It might be my next Chapter in my life.
